How it Started
II first got to know Alex years ago while working with her family in another capacity. We connected over a shared love of Black Russian Terriers, and over the years I watched as she pursued her passion for animals and specialized veterinary care.
When the time came to open a clinic of her own, our paths crossed again. Alex reached out looking for a complete brand framework that would give her new venture a strong foundation from day one.
What They Needed
Emerald Veterinary needed a brand that communicated a high level of expertise and care without feeling overly clinical or corporate. It needed to feel established and trustworthy from day one, while still warm and approachable. With Emerald Lake holding personal significance for Alex, and the clinic itself set against the mountains and serving the surrounding community, that connection to place became a natural part of the brand.
Where We Landed
We landed on a confident, approachable identity that brings together both sides of Emerald: specialty expertise and compassionate care. The custom mountain and paw mark connects the clinic’s veterinary focus with its Rocky Mountain setting, while bold typography and a grounded, natural palette give the brand a strong presence designed to work consistently across everything from signage to everyday brand applications.
What I Loved
While I’ve worked on brands in the medical and clinical world before, this was my first project in the veterinary space. As an animal lover and longtime pet owner, I felt an immediate connection to the audience and loved exploring how mountains, animals, and veterinary care could come together in a way that felt both professional and approachable.
I especially love the logomark and the possibilities it creates across the brand. Seeing the identity already come to life through signage and other applications has made this project especially rewarding.
